Matt Monroe is the Director and lead coach of South Shore Sports Performance. With a lifelong passion for sports and athlete development, Matt brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for coaching to every session.
As a former collegiate soccer standout—a four-year starter, team captain, and conference all-star—Matt knows firsthand what it takes to compete at a high level. His deep understanding of soccer and athletic performance translates directly into his training philosophy: empowering athletes to reach their peak potential while building habits that last a lifetime.
In addition to his playing career, Matt is a dedicated club soccer coach who works with players across the South Shore, guiding them not only on the field but in the gym as well. He holds multiple certifications, including Certified Functional Strength Coach, Certified Athletic Development Specialist™ (CADS™), Certified Speed & Agility Specialist™ (CSAS™), and High School Strength & Conditioning Specialist™ (HSSCS™) through the International Youth Conditioning Association.
Matt’s coaching style is rooted in long-term athlete development and fueled by a belief that great athletes aren’t just born—they’re built through smart training, hard work, and a supportive environment. He takes pride in creating a positive, energetic, and purposeful space where every athlete feels challenged, supported, and inspired.
When he’s not coaching, Matt loves spending time with his amazing wife and three daughters. You can find him enjoying beach days, traveling, playing soccer, and serving as a positive role model for his family and community.
